What types of support do you consider? Program and project support are our highest priorities. We do consider general operating requests if they are associated with clear goals and objectives.
Does the Foundation support organizations outside Northeast Ohio? Although our focus is centered in Greater Cleveland, a portion of the Foundation's grantmaking will continue to support state and national policy making that bolsters our work.
What types of proposals does the Foundation NOT fund?
The Foundation normally does not consider grants for endowments. Capital requests must meet the Foundation's program goals and also adhere to "green building" standards of environmental sustainability. Details on these requirements are available here.

Grants are not made to fund benefit events.
Funds for conferences, publications and media are limited to projects directly related to priorities in the Foundations six program areas.
With the exception of retinal degenerative disease research, community health and AIDS policy and services, the foundation is not active in the health field.
Proposals for services to the physically, mentally or developmentally disabled or the elderly are not considered.
Grants are not made to individuals.
Grants are not made for activities performed and organizations located outside of the United States, with the exception of retinal degenerative disease research.
Grant funds may not be used to carry on propaganda or otherwise attempt to influence legislation, participate in or intervene in any political campaign on behalf of or in opposition to any candidate for public office, or to conduct, directly or indirectly, any voter registration drive within the meaning of Section 4945(d)(2) of the Internal Revenue Code.
